Once in a while I like to highlight some covers along a theme. Today it’s dystopia.

Of course there are  few ways of evoking dystopia. Ruined skylines are a popular approach, as are washed out or even monochromatic colors. Some dystopian books such as The Hunger Games or Divergent use more iconic imagery, but this is difficult to achieve with an indie budget.  Indie covers also need to communicate a bit more directly as a general rule, which is why they often include characters on the cover.
